Biophilic design is the future, emphasizing nature as a central design approach. I strive to create buildings that exude a telluric atmosphere, connecting people deeply with the earth.
My name is Katendi Kamuhuza, a Zambian-born artist who grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. Katendi refers to a colorful snake in the Zambezi River, believed to bring luck if spotted. Consider yourself blessed for being here.
My passion lies in designing built environments that provide sacred and restorative spaces. Welcome to my journey of blending nature with architecture.

MY SENSE OF DUTY LIES IN:
PEOPLE & CULTURE
Architects and creatives have the daunting task of designing for the present and future of a diverse and quickly changing culture. Architecture is a product of our past, present and values. It creates environments where people will benefit in different ways now and into the future.

STRUCTURISM & PLACE
Based on the principle of people, the form and structure will depict the interaction in an unbroken process of 'structuration'. What we see around us is the evolution of social reproduction. Can we say we have evolved whilst retaining our sense of society? Our sense of place? Individually and Societal? Many questions to ponder. Regardless, with practice and agency comes structure and place.

PERFORMANCE & BEAUTY
Beauty lies in the performance and behavior of elements. The integration and thoughtful debate between beauty and function will continue to intrigue and paint the human sense of space....
